Narrative:
During taxi out at ZZZ and approaching runway xxl; tower attempted to give us a clearance to cross runway xxl. Unfortunately; raas spoke up and completely covered up the ATC transmission. After receiving the clearance again; we crossed runway xxl. Unfortunately; as we approached runway xxr; tower gave us a position and hold clearance. Unfortunately; that clearance was also covered up by raas. Had to ask for the clearance again. When we were taxiing into position for hold; tower gave us another clearance but -- you guessed it -- raas covered that one up as well. After asking again to repeat the clearance; tower told us to depart immediately due to an aircraft on short final. Raas is an accident waiting to happen. It only serves to distract and to cover up ATC instructions. I would not be surprised at all if the next accident was caused by raas covering up ATC instructions. Deactivate raas now!
