Narrative:
While on short final for a visual landing on phl runway 27R; conflicting landing traffic on runway 35 failed to respond to a tower directed go-around. A second tower transmission was directed to the conflicting traffic (also on short final) at which time the rj began a go-around. We continued the approach to an uneventful landing. Had we attempted a go-around ourselves; I believe there would have been a more dangerous situation between our 2 aircraft. Better coordination between conflicting runway traffic needs to be addressed; much like lahso coordination on conflicting runways.
