Narrative:
During pushback; ground informed us of a runway swap. The airport was surrounded by convective activity and very dynamic. Our jumpseater (company pilot) offered to do the performance computations on the efb for the swap. After the push; the jumpseater told us that the runway wasn't going to work with our weight and we were already planning a bleeds off for a more favorable runway. During this distraction; we missed bringing the engine generators on line. We departed with power on the APU because we were doing a bleeds off takeoff. After clean-up and 2 minutes of APU cooling; I heard the captain say; 'cool blue and off' at which time we lost all AC in IMC. The captain quickly brought the engine generators on line and restored normal aircraft electrics.
