Narrative:
While leaving the commuter parking lot at pit, ramp control instructed me to follow an medium large transport. I had to maneuver between an small transport and an mdt in order to gain entry onto the main taxiway. It was dark and had been raining. I was so wrapped up trying to get between the other aircraft that I forgot to follow the medium large transport. I taxied in front of the medium large transport causing the medium large transport to stop suddenly. Neither myself or my first officer (the medium large transport was approaching from the right side about 90 degrees to my aircraft) noticed the medium large transport coming at us. There are lights positioned around the edge of the commuter lot. However, these light are more of a drawback when everything is wet (because of the glare and the lights tend to blind you rather than illuminate the other aircraft). Also, this parking situation is terrible. The commuter aircraft are parked very close and create tight openings in and out of the lot.

Title: COMMUTER LTT CAME IN CLOSE PROX TO MLG LEAVING PIT COMMUTER RAMP. PLT BLAMES CONGESTED PARKING SITUATION.
Narrative: WHILE LEAVING THE COMMUTER PARKING LOT AT PIT, RAMP CTL INSTRUCTED ME TO FOLLOW AN MLG. I HAD TO MANEUVER BTWN AN SMT AND AN MDT IN ORDER TO GAIN ENTRY ONTO THE MAIN TXWY. IT WAS DARK AND HAD BEEN RAINING. I WAS SO WRAPPED UP TRYING TO GET BTWN THE OTHER ACFT THAT I FORGOT TO FOLLOW THE MLG. I TAXIED IN FRONT OF THE MLG CAUSING THE MLG TO STOP SUDDENLY. NEITHER MYSELF OR MY F/O (THE MLG WAS APCHING FROM THE RIGHT SIDE ABOUT 90 DEGS TO MY ACFT) NOTICED THE MLG COMING AT US. THERE ARE LIGHTS POSITIONED AROUND THE EDGE OF THE COMMUTER LOT. HOWEVER, THESE LIGHT ARE MORE OF A DRAWBACK WHEN EVERYTHING IS WET (BECAUSE OF THE GLARE AND THE LIGHTS TEND TO BLIND YOU RATHER THAN ILLUMINATE THE OTHER ACFT). ALSO, THIS PARKING SITUATION IS TERRIBLE. THE COMMUTER ACFT ARE PARKED VERY CLOSE AND CREATE TIGHT OPENINGS IN AND OUT OF THE LOT.
