Narrative:
A series of procedural oversights for wrong APU installation. Serviceable tag didn't have stub removed when removed from an aircraft; which would have rendered the APU unserviceable. Several times; tag should have been checked against serial number (south/north) of APU. Outcome was; an unserviceable APU was mistaken for a serviceable unit several times and ended up being installed.
