Narrative:

The inbound aircraft arrived with an MEL on the cockpit door. Our outbound paperwork was prepared with the MEL for our outbound leg. Maintenance showed up and fixed the door and correctly filled out the logbook removing the MEL. I was handed back the log book seconds before the gate agent was ready to close the main cabin door. I reviewed the logbook; but forgot the MEL was still on the dispatch release. We departed and it wasn't till I was reading the paper work for the next leg I realized my mistake of not talking with the dispatcher and removing the MEL from the release.the procedure of throwing everything at the captain and seeing what he can catch was in place. I missed this paper work mistake.all divisions of this company operate independently. It is up the captain to hunt down and find each 'easter egg' hidden by each independent division of the company. Dispatch/operations/maintenance should work together. After all; it is their airplane all day long. I get it handed to me and have 5 minutes to track each peculiarity.
