Narrative:
During descent and radar vector on the arrival into ZZZ; aircraft skirted edge of convective cell and cabin door opened in flight. Pilot requested priority handling to ZZZ. Aerodynamic buffet from open door on flight controls was substantial in level flight so pilot started a slow descent into ZZZ. Aerodynamic buffet was almost nil with a 300-500 fpm descent. Atc vectored a direct heading to ZZZ and cleared us for visual approach to runway. Landing was normal as I held door closed to keep from swinging open during landing flare.
