Narrative:
I continue to be fearful for ground personnel during taxi to parking at self-parking gates at dfw. Personnel move into the sterile area during parking while I am looking up at the parking system. I am gravely concerned that the person with the electric chord will trip over the chord while my attention is diverted to the parking system. There is no one to spot trouble and stop aircraft movement should someone wander into danger. All ground personnel should stay out of the sterile area until the aircraft has come to a complete stop and all engines are shutdown. Or; bring the marshaller back to the front of the plane as a safety observer?
Original NASA ASRS Text
