Narrative:

Selected gear down. Left main had a red unsafe indication no green down locked. Cycled gear with same indication so did go around. Did appropriate checklists and manually extended gear but still had an unsafe indication. First officer went back to make visual of gear down locks and could not see left main down lock marks because view port was obscured by water condensation. Contacted dispatch and maintenance who had us check circuit breakers and gear override trigger. Did flyby of tower who said gear appeared down. Completed checklists had flight attendants do a cabin preparation and had rescue equipment standing by and made a normal landing without incident.
