Narrative:
While being vectored for an approach (ILS 5 lbt); the controller informed me there was no traffic following me; and I said I would probably miss and follow the published missed approach procedure. However; actual weather (ASOS was reporting 500' broken) turned out to be a thin scattered layer - no problem landing. Lbt is a non-towered airport with no remote communications outlet; and I had weak or no cell phone reception to call to cancel IFR. So I taxied back and departed into good VMC; called fay approach control to simply resume the missed approach procedure. I was informed there was a conflict; and in a subsequent conversation with the ATC facility was reminded to ask for a through clearance if spending any time on the ground. With hindsight; once I was airborne again; it was my mistake to use the term 'missed approach'; I should have just called to cancel the IFR and request clearance for the next leg. Still; I tied up the airspace for less time than if I had remained on the ground and searched for a land line telephone to cancel IFR on.
