Narrative:
An electrical burning smell had already appeared and gone away twice with not being able to locate the source. It then appeared the third time. We decided to declare an emergency suspecting that there could be an imminent problem if the airplane continued in flight with electrical power supplied to the equipment. We diverted to an enroute airport with no further incident and the smell dissipated and was gone before landing. No further assistance was needed after landing and maintenance was called to inform and inspect after the situation.
