Narrative:
Abq center cleared our flight direct socorro; direct san simon on course. Omn was inadvertently entered instead of onm. I verified the captain's entry and recall the course line looking correct for our position. However; we started turn towards omn; behind and left of our position. Abq center asked our course and we noted the error and corrected. Our heading had gone about 90 degrees off course. Nothing else mentioned by abq center and it did not seem to be a problem. I am disappointed I missed the simple error when I verified the entry. This would not have happened had I paid closer attention to the FMC programming data before we executed the entry.
