Narrative:
Our aircraft had a landing gear fairing that was missing and the cdl called for a reduction of 1620 lbs to both performance and runway limits. When we pulled up takeoff data on ACARS; it provided max thrust options only with the appropriate penalty applied to performance and runway limits. The cdl did not say that max thrust was required so we queried dispatch to see if they could get reduced thrust options. Dispatch sent us reduced thrust numbers which we used for the takeoff. At the end of the duty day the dispatcher informed us that he had filed a company safety report due to forgetting to apply the penalty to the numbers he sent us. Due to the penalty being 1620 lbs; the takeoff weight of 212;000 lbs was still below performance and runway limits.
