Narrative:
Bmb X sebnd and medium large transport big nebnd. Medium large transport big missed his clearance because I called him medium large transport bid. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: the bmb was sebnd, level at fl 230. The medium large transport was nebnd, climbing to an altitude above the bmb. Considerably before the conflict occurred, the controller (reporter) saw the impending problem and gave a level off command to the climbing medium large transport. Unfortunately, he used the wrong number in his call to the medium large transport. They ignored the command and continued the climb. By the time the controller discovered his error, it was too late to stop the medium large transport's climb. The facility investigation found this to be a moderate operational error. Types of aircraft and additional experience data were determined.

Title: LESS THAN STANDARD SEPARATION BETWEEN SOUTHEASTBOUND BMB AT FL230 AND NORTHEAST-BOUND MLG CLIMBING THROUGH THAT ALT.
Narrative: BMB X SEBND AND MLG BIG NEBND. MLG BIG MISSED HIS CLRNC BECAUSE I CALLED HIM MLG BID. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: THE BMB WAS SEBND, LEVEL AT FL 230. THE MLG WAS NEBND, CLBING TO AN ALT ABOVE THE BMB. CONSIDERABLY BEFORE THE CONFLICT OCCURRED, THE CTLR (RPTR) SAW THE IMPENDING PROB AND GAVE A LEVEL OFF COMMAND TO THE CLBING MLG. UNFORTUNATELY, HE USED THE WRONG NUMBER IN HIS CALL TO THE MLG. THEY IGNORED THE COMMAND AND CONTINUED THE CLB. BY THE TIME THE CTLR DISCOVERED HIS ERROR, IT WAS TOO LATE TO STOP THE MLG'S CLB. THE FAC INVESTIGATION FOUND THIS TO BE A MODERATE OPERATIONAL ERROR. TYPES OF ACFT AND ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE DATA WERE DETERMINED.
