Narrative:
Aircraft X was on vector to chd. I descended the aircraft to 6000 and completed handoff to adjacent sector pima. I completed a point-out to adjacent sector san tan. Luf AFB was closed when I took the position but opened without my knowledge. This information was sent via the ids but was unnoticed. When luf opens all positions are solicited for traffic before we give them the airspace. No verbal announcement was given to the arrival wall. When I was relieved I asked the supervisor when luf opened and asked him to see the log. He stated that the airspace had opened 30 minutes ago. I told him that he had failed to notify the arrival wall. He acknowledged his mistake and apologized profusely. I observed aircraft X leaving luf airspace without incident. Recommendation; stay with the program and let everyone know when luf AFB opens.

Narrative: Aircraft X was on vector to CHD.
