Narrative:
On takeoff; in the high speed regime; we had a number #2 gen failure. Right gen off; right bus off; isln lights on. Started APU and completed irregular procedure. System restored for several minutes then reoccurred. Right gen off; right bus off; and isln lights all back on. Contacted dispatch and maintenance and diverted back to ZZZ. During descent; right bus came back online; so only right gen off light illuminated during landing. Uneventful approach and landing.
