Narrative:
On the departure from hou the LOA6 departure was given; and 123.80 was the frequency I saw for departure on the chart. When the takeoff clearance was given we were told to climb to 5000' and keep visual separation from the other aircraft that had just departed. After take off we were told to maintain 2000' which we slightly went over since it was given right at 2000' a heading of 360 and then told to contact departure. When I contacted departure they had no idea who we were or where we were at; which gave me the feeling of a wrong frequency. By the time we got a word in because of a busy frequency and being step on we received the correct frequency and switched over to 132.25 and were told to expedite the climb thru 8000' for 16000' because of iah traffic on departures and arrivals. No traffic alerts incurred or deviations and we continued the departure without further incidents.
