Narrative:
Had two aircraft in hangar for maintenance that night. Had one mechanic on vacation; one mechanic on a personal day (off); and one mechanic sick call; which left three mechanics and myself on-duty. Pushed work on both aircraft to be able to get them out on time. I checked the ignitors on a cl-65; got called away multiple times during that check.aircraft on ground (aog) desk called to have part sent to ZZZ. Get courier box ready for courier; stopped to load courier box onto courier van; got called by mechanics a couple times to look at something they where working on.in a perfect world; I'd have a parts person to take care of the courier; which could of helped; and might not of helped at all in this case. I lost track of the tool which is my responsibility.
