Narrative:
I was assigned to a B757-200 aircraft to perform a post flight service check. I notified my lead that I found a delaminated panel on the right-hand (rh) side; lower middle fuselage to wing panel; just forward of the rh gear door; behind the (air conditioning) pack exhaust area. He then called B-757 maintenance control with the discrepancy. After giving my lead this information; I continued performing the tasks on the service check. After completing the service check and signing-off the items I accomplished; I went to check in with the lead about my discrepancy. At that time I was told accomplish the structural repair manual (srm) task; to apply speed tape to the panel. After applying the speed tape; I signed-off the write-up using the srm reference chapter 51-70-14-4C; that was given to me; and included that maintenance control was notified and closed the item.
