Narrative:

I have written up raas before. We were rolling towards the end of the runway. Just as tower issued us instructions to clear the runway; raas reported '2000 feet to end of runway;' or whatever it says at that point and totally overrode the tower communication. I had to ask tower to repeat and nearly didn't near them again because of the 500 feet to end of runway call by raas. This system is a total distraction to the cockpit crew and should not be installed. At the least put in an on/off switch. Just what we don't need is another distraction in the cockpit to help that one crew in a million who could actually use the help of raas.
