Narrative:
Originally cleared hec-riivr 2 arrival. Re-cleared pgs-riivr arrival. Around habso cleared by socal for ILS runway 24R. Plan view for ILS runway 24R contains 2 fixes between riivr and skoll named jaxev and minza which are not depicted on the profile view of the ILS runway 24R. We were confused as to whether to proceed riivr-skoll per profile view or riivr-jaxev-minza-skoll per plan view. We thought that the jaxev and minza fixes might have been a part of a transition for the ILS runway 24R approach which was unintentionally selected. To confuse us further; crossing riivr socal gave us a speed restriction for skoll which led us to believe that we were to proceed directly to skoll. We ended up flying this portion of the arrival in heading select monitoring course tracking on the HSI map display. Nothing was said about course deviations by socal. In short; what is the correct routing to fly in this situation?

Title: A B767 crew flying the LAX RIIVR 2 arrival with the Runway 24R ILS transition questioned whether the aircraft was required to overfly the two RNAV transition waypoints JAXEV and MINZA between RIIVR and SKOLL.
