Narrative:

While descending though 12;000 feet we entered the wake turbulence of a preceding md-11. The preceding aircraft was approximately 8 miles in front of my aircraft. ATC was giving step down instructions behind the md-11 aircraft. Any items not secure in the cabin were displaced causing major cleaning to be done upon landing. I checked the passengers to make sure there were no injuries. The seat belt sign was not on at the time of incident.
