Narrative:
We were cleared for takeoff on runway 33L at iah. We were given a left turn after takeoff to 110 degrees. Unbeknownst to us the tower also cleared an aircraft for takeoff from the close parallel runway; 33R. As we rotated to pitch altitude we saw the conflict aircraft very close to us. It was at the 2 o'clock position and high. We were closing fast so we made a positive and timely turn to the left to avoid a conflict. We were not sure how the conflict aircraft got there and why tower had not advised us of the other aircraft. The tower should have advised us of the conflict aircraft and its departure clearance.
