Narrative:
In 5/88, in the process of doing takeoffs and lndgs, we were advised by ewr tower that we may have gotten into the TCA. The problem was discovered when a telephone call was received from ewr to linden airport ground crew. No evasive action was required. No additional actions were taken. Upon checking the TCA chart, it is my opinion that I did not enter the TCA laterally based on ground reference items. Our charts indicate we were not in the TCA. If the situation occurred as reported by the control tower at ewr, a possible solution to this problem in the future would be a right hand traffic pattern at linden airport for runway 09 as this would not require aircraft to turn in towards the lower ring of the TCA--ie, the 500' sector or in fact the 500' sector should be changed to an 800' sector. Had ewr tower not contacted the linden ground crew, both I and the examiner on board would have never realized we entered the TCA, if we in fact did enter the TCA. Based on 20 yrs of flying experience at linden airport, both myself and the examiner conclude that we did not enter the TCA based on the TCA chart, a portion of which is attached to this report.

Title: GA SMT IN LNDG TRAFFIC PATTERN ENTERED N90 TCA.
Narrative: IN 5/88, IN THE PROCESS OF DOING TKOFS AND LNDGS, WE WERE ADVISED BY EWR TWR THAT WE MAY HAVE GOTTEN INTO THE TCA. THE PROB WAS DISCOVERED WHEN A TELEPHONE CALL WAS RECEIVED FROM EWR TO LINDEN ARPT GND CREW. NO EVASIVE ACTION WAS REQUIRED. NO ADDITIONAL ACTIONS WERE TAKEN. UPON CHKING THE TCA CHART, IT IS MY OPINION THAT I DID NOT ENTER THE TCA LATERALLY BASED ON GND REF ITEMS. OUR CHARTS INDICATE WE WERE NOT IN THE TCA. IF THE SITUATION OCCURRED AS RPTED BY THE CTL TWR AT EWR, A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THIS PROB IN THE FUTURE WOULD BE A RIGHT HAND TFC PATTERN AT LINDEN ARPT FOR RWY 09 AS THIS WOULD NOT REQUIRE ACFT TO TURN IN TOWARDS THE LOWER RING OF THE TCA--IE, THE 500' SECTOR OR IN FACT THE 500' SECTOR SHOULD BE CHANGED TO AN 800' SECTOR. HAD EWR TWR NOT CONTACTED THE LINDEN GND CREW, BOTH I AND THE EXAMINER ON BOARD WOULD HAVE NEVER REALIZED WE ENTERED THE TCA, IF WE IN FACT DID ENTER THE TCA. BASED ON 20 YRS OF FLYING EXPERIENCE AT LINDEN ARPT, BOTH MYSELF AND THE EXAMINER CONCLUDE THAT WE DID NOT ENTER THE TCA BASED ON THE TCA CHART, A PORTION OF WHICH IS ATTACHED TO THIS RPT.
