Narrative:
Right after relieving the controller; I was called with a point-out on aircraft X (10 southeast of sac VOR; direct eca; direct ehf climbing out of nct's airspace) from the adjacent kirkwood controller. I was about to get two aircraft; one of which was the most possible conflict (an air carrier) climbing to linden (lin) that were possible conflicts with aircraft X; but were lower so the plan was to step them up reference aircraft X. I kept climbing the air carrier reference aircraft X when the kirkwood controller called me again asking whether I was indeed stopping the air carrier below aircraft X. I replied with; 'yes; they're all stopped below.' unfortunately there was a sjc loupe departure (another air carrier) that was a few miles ahead of the first air cattier direct lin and FL215 climbing (approximately the same altitude as aircraft X at that time). At that point; the air carrier and aircraft X were approximately 30 lateral converging over eca VOR. Quickly realizing that the kirkwood controller was talking about the other air carrier; I called him back to clarify. He said aircraft X was already talking to ZOA and quickly got on the landine with sector 34; who was talking to aircraft X. The air carrier had already been talking to ZOA sector 29 (fairfield doesn't talk to the loupe departures). Kirkwood called back saying aircraft X was level at FL220. The air carrier passed over at approximately FL260. Recommendation; I'm not sure of what recommendations to make. However; I think something needs to be done to prevent future incidents. The biggest problem is fairfield and kirkwood are required to protect for quake departure traffic through their airspace (lin). Especially since kirkwood and quake are separated by about 30 NM.
