Narrative:
I was released from a trip and reported the next day for a trip which would have resulted in twenty four hours fifty nine minutes rest in seven days. I was advised by crew scheduling after commencing the trip that since we adjusted our clocks due to daylight savings time I had actually only gotten twenty three hours fifty nine minutes of rest in the last seven days rendering me illegal to fly that day. I thought I was legal when I accepted this assignment and realize that I should have taken the daylight savings time correction into account.
