Narrative:
During climb I noticed some binding in the controls as we turned. I asked the first officer to try the controls and he agreed with my assessment. As we discussed the problem we missed the course. We got back on course and continued on to our destination. Having the auto pilot deferred as we were discussing the flight control problem added to our level of workload. In our discussion we felt as if the issue might not have been the autopilot; it may have been a flight control issue.
