Narrative:
In reference to a log write-up; an A320 aircraft departed ZZZ and experienced a right wing outer tank low fuel temp upper ECAM display; which self-erased two minutes later. This aircraft has multiple hits with this same type of occurrence (referenced in deferral process as inf-information). I called maintenance control to confer if this recurring situation should not be addressed with a fuel tank entry [procedure]; with a probe change and sensor change; along with a possible wiring check at some time in the near future. We agreed that the existing situation with no message displayed was a deferrable condition; but something with this much history should be addressed soon. We agreed to make the deferral as was written by me; after the A320 arrival in ZZZ1; and requesting further crew comments should the condition occur prior to fix.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A Line Lead Mechanic reports about a common problem of spurious; intermittent RT OUTER TANK LOW FUEL TEMP upper ECAM Display messages which self-erase two minutes later on the Airbus A318's; A319's and A320's. Replacement of the wing Fuel Temp Sensor generally resolves the problem; but requires a wing Fuel Tank Entry Open-up procedure.
