Narrative:
I became ill while flying on a ferry flight. Very rapidly felt that I was about to pass out. Landed helicopter in a field, walked to edge of road. After several mins a state patrolman was called by a passer by. EMS squad was called, I was transported to a local hospital where I was checked for a possible heart attack. All tests were negative. I then spent 2 1/2 days at the hospital doing many tests. No heart problems were found. Initial blood test showed a low potassium level. The cardiologist, dr. XXX, said that could have caused my problem. By the time I was released from the hospital, the potassium level was normal. No damage to the helicopter or field was incurred. For prevention of recurrence, I am eating more food high in potassium.
