Narrative:

Our commercially produced operations chart for slc indicates that there is no push call needed for the gate from which we were departing. Therefore; we pushed without calling. We heard on ground that they wanted us to stop our push and taxi back into the gate. We were holding up traffic taxiing to 34R; because we were on the taxiway. We did taxi forward and had the ground crew hook up again. Ground control said we could then push a few minutes later. Our operations chart was current.
