Narrative:
During cruise; the first officer noticed that neither mcdu was responding to any typed input; and were stuck on one page. [We] notified ATC that we were using standby navigation; and needed VOR frequencies and headings. I asked the first officer to try the flight manual mcdu reset procedure which was unsuccessful. He then called dispatch and maintenance control to advise of condition. Maintenance control offered no fix; so we proceeded to our VMC destination and landed uneventfully. After local maintenance reset the system on the ground; all systems worked normally; and we returned to chicago with no further problems.
