Narrative:
Takeoff weight was 228000. I was flying and climbing out of FL180 to fl280 when I noticed right engine oil in the red with a temp of 190. [I] informed captain who got out flight manual and started the high oil temp checklist. When informed that we would shut down engine I informed ATC that we would like to descend back to FL200 and might be returning. Temp reached 202 before shut down and 206 after shut down. Captain did engine shut down checklist as I flew and talked to ATC. Declared emergency and informed ATC we would be returning. Captain talked to dispatch; maintenance; flight attendants; and made PA to passengers along with doing checklist and landing data. Captain then briefed the approach and took over aircraft at about 5000 feet. I double checked the checklists everything was completed. We landed at a weight of 218000. Rolled to end and had airport rescue and fire fighting check brakes and right engine. Everything was good. Taxied to gate and meet by maintenance and chief pilot.
