Narrative:
Our port authority has approved a measure that will rename one of our satellite airports. The airport is TDZ; toledo metcalf field. They have decided to rename it toledo executive. The problem is that our main airport is toledo express; so we'll have toledo express and toledo executive within 15 miles of each other. I see an issue with possible confusion both for pilots and controllers because of the similar sounding names especially over the frequencies. They did not approach us or our atm (air traffic manager) or the FAA at all before going ahead with this. I have approached my atm about this issue. He is of the same mind but feels that this is above him. Any help from the erc (event review committee) to mitigate or stop this change would be appreciated. Even 'toledo metcalf executive airport' would eliminate the confusion.
