Narrative:
Altrv (altitude reservation) breakup involving 8 aircraft. Took place in combined sectors with the radar range at 160+ miles. Weather was present in sector 16 with multiple deviations. Workload was extremely high and the breakup got very confusing. More attention could have been given to the altrv; had the sectors been split ahead of time. Recommendation split the sectors when there is plenty of early warning about a multiple ship altrv inbound.
