Narrative:
I was assigned an aircraft. In the work pack job card XXX001 was assigned to be accomplished. I do not recall if I printed the job card or it was previously printed. After arriving at the gate; I assisted in opening #2 engine for a bore scope inspection; completed 2 other work release items and started an overnight check. I accomplished job card XXX004. This was the job card that was in the work pack. I signed the card off on the work release according to the job card number. I was notified two days later of completing the wrong job card. Due to the error; an overfly did occur for job card XXX001. Management was notified on and the aircraft was stopped in ZZZ and the job card XXX001 was accomplished.paperwork auditor found the error. At the beginning of the shift several job cards are printed. The wrong job card may have been placed in the wrong work pack. Awareness of the correct job card sign off.
