Narrative:
Landing on runway 25 with winds at 12 KTS with gusts to 20 KTS. One runway was closed for landing and another runway closed for repairs. Wind from 110 to 190. Set up for landing and was hit with a large gust of wind that blew the aircraft right of centerline. Corrected to the left but touched down with left tire first. Aircraft turned to the left hard. The plane turned into the grassy area between runway 25 and taxiway north; between taxiway J and H. Stopped in the grass and taxied to taxiway H. Contacted tower and got permission to taxi across runway 25 and to taxiway a and to parking. Aircraft did not ground loop. Aircraft suffered no damage. No one on the aircraft or on the ground was hurt. No airport equipment was damaged. If faced with this again; I will land on the gravel runway with the possible lower crosswind component and less tire grab conditions with gravel.
