Narrative:

Just after rotation when the gear was selected up we received a nose steering inoperative caution message; within one minute later we then received a red nose gear indication with the main gear showing up and locked. We maintained 200 KTS at an altitude of 3;000 MSL and proceeded to the non-normal checklist gear for gear up disagree. I notified the flight attendant; ATC; dispatch and maintenance control of the situation. I made the decision to have crash fire rescue equipment standing by in the event possible assistance was needed. We were vectored by ATC while burning fuel to our max landing weight of 47;000 pounds. The aircraft was controllable with the landing gear down and locked. The flight attendant was briefed; the approach was executed and the landing was made without incident. We were able to taxi the aircraft off the runway to a taxiway feeder where we were met by operations to tow us back to the gate.
