Narrative:
The tower cleared us into position and hold on the runway and advised us there was an aircraft on four mile final. We were cleared for take off and just before V1 the aircraft on final said it was too close and he was going around and the tower told him to fly runway heading. During this the tower told us take off clearance was canceled and the first officer advised him that it was a little late for that. We had already hit V1 and the nose was off the ground and I continued to fly. I decreased my rate of climb because I knew the other aircraft was above me. I saw him make a turn to the left and maintained visual with him. We climbed out without any conflict and nothing was said by tower besides contact departure control. Suggest having more separation between aircraft in position and approaching aircraft depending on speed of aircraft
