Narrative:

I was working on a 757 when I noticed inflight while we were setting up the galley that the quarter-turns and the carts were not correctly assigned. The quarter turn locks that are to be placed in the galley locations (3 carts on the rear left side) were not designed for the CA777s [a type of generic galley cart; not a unique B-777 cart]; they were designed for the new tech carts and the quarter turn locks do not stop the cart doors from opening when the quarter turn is in its lowered position. This is a no go item. I would like this looked into because our jumpseats are in front of these doors and if we stop suddenly or have an accident and that door opens we are the first ones hit with projectile items. Please have the quarter turns replaced with longer ones that fit the carts being placed here or put the new tech carts back.
