Narrative:
We were given the lga two departure; maspeth climb which is climbing right turn heading 180 to lga 4.1 DME; then right turn heading 340 maintain 5;000. Prior to takeoff we briefed this departure; but we didn't notice the cross at and maintain 5;000 fix on the graphic portion of the SID. This fix tells you to cross the lga 220 radial at 5;000. On departure we followed the course and ATC asked us around 4;300 ft if we were going to make the crossing restriction. We responded by asking 'what crossing restriction; we are on the maspeth climb?' he then told us that we had a restriction on the SID. We quickly climbed and leveled at 5;000 ft. We were then given a new heading of 360 and continued on with no further problems. We are not sure if we made the crossing restriction because we did not have the 220 radial programed into the FMS. The graphic portion should be referred to or included in the textual portion of the SID.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: An Air Carrier First Officer reported that the LGA 2 SID graphical depiction required a crossing restriction of 5;000 FT at the LGA 220 radial. The textual description does not include the restriction and so this crew missed the requirement.
