Narrative:
On approach first officer pilot flying. While configuring to land from flaps 1 to flaps 2 received ECAM F/control flaps locked - alignment fault. I maintained altitude and initiated a missed approach. Speed was flown at 180 KTS and we maintained the existing flap configuration of F2. Approach control vectored us out for an extended downwind while the captain contacted dispatch and maintenance. We completed the flight manual procedures for the abnormal configuration landing; including receiving adjusted landing distance information from dispatch. We switched to the longer runway for landing. The approach and landing were flown at configuration 2. The captain; having a vastly superior amount of airbus experience landed the aircraft. Approach and landing were nominal.
