Narrative:
Low speed cue and red checkerboard low speed cues began to rise along with airspeed indication on captain's side during initial climb. Came up to 210 KIAS while aircraft speed was 220/230 KIAS. After flap retraction and increased speed the cue went away. It reappeared at cruise around 250 KIAS while aircraft speed was 285 KIAS. I turned off the stall protection system and had the first officer fly the remainder of the leg since his side did not show the error. We planned for a flaps 20 landing in the event the cue reappeared on his side on final. There were no QRH procedures to follow and perhaps there should be a procedure to turn off the stall protection to avoid the stick pusher if the cue did violate the normal adequate speed regime.
