Narrative:
During descent on arrival passing FL270 we got a right oil filter EICAS. Following flight manual procedures we reduced throttle all the way back to idle but light remained on. Procedures direct to wait 2 minutes at idle then accomplish in-flight engine shutdown checklist; which we did. We looked at all available airports and concluded that our destination was the nearest suitable in point of time based on our position and altitude.

Title: A B757 right oil filter EICAS alerted in flight as the aircraft began it arrival descent at FL270. The engine was shutdown; an emergency declared and the flight continued to its scheduled destination.
