Narrative:
Aircraft departed runway 7 (25 optimum) due to weight restrictions. After takeoff we received no xmissions from tower or departure control, although they later said they heard and acknowledged all of our xmissions. We attempted contact on 119.9, 133.95, 127.15, our company heard us on 129.2 and we heard them. As we were in a heavy aircraft, in mountainous terrain, we flew the departure procedure and commenced a climb to 15000' MSL as per our pre-departure ATC clearance. Approximately 5 mins after takeoff we finally were able to establish contact with las departure control. No evasive action was required. I am not sure why we heard no xmissions from ATC facility, possible due to receiver failure (but company heard us immediately), or possibly due to a delay in controller response. Suggest check area of transmitter coverage east of las and request controllers respond in a timely manner.

Title: ACR MLG UNABLE TO ESTABLISH COM AFTER TKOF INSTITUTED LOST COM PROC.
Narrative: ACFT DEPARTED RWY 7 (25 OPTIMUM) DUE TO WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS. AFTER TKOF WE RECEIVED NO XMISSIONS FROM TWR OR DEP CTL, ALTHOUGH THEY LATER SAID THEY HEARD AND ACKNOWLEDGED ALL OF OUR XMISSIONS. WE ATTEMPTED CONTACT ON 119.9, 133.95, 127.15, OUR COMPANY HEARD US ON 129.2 AND WE HEARD THEM. AS WE WERE IN A HVY ACFT, IN MOUNTAINOUS TERRAIN, WE FLEW THE DEP PROC AND COMMENCED A CLB TO 15000' MSL AS PER OUR PRE-DEP ATC CLRNC. APPROX 5 MINS AFTER TKOF WE FINALLY WERE ABLE TO ESTABLISH CONTACT WITH LAS DEP CTL. NO EVASIVE ACTION WAS REQUIRED. I AM NOT SURE WHY WE HEARD NO XMISSIONS FROM ATC FAC, POSSIBLE DUE TO RECEIVER FAILURE (BUT COMPANY HEARD US IMMEDIATELY), OR POSSIBLY DUE TO A DELAY IN CTLR RESPONSE. SUGGEST CHK AREA OF XMITTER COVERAGE E OF LAS AND REQUEST CTLRS RESPOND IN A TIMELY MANNER.
