Narrative:
Engine failure caused a forced landing on a salt water sound. The airplane is an amphibious design and landed safely. There were no injuries and the airplane was towed by the fire department to a local dock. The cause of the engine failure is unknown; however there was evidence of an internal failure resulting in oil discharged from the left exhaust as well as engine components; which were ejected into the propeller causing damage to the prop.
