Narrative:
Company issued deferred maintenance # for inoperative cockpit voice recorder and required myself and other crew members to take the aircraft. Given the revised MEL/cdl list and the fact company MEL/cdl lists have not been updated, we were unable to determine the legality of this situation. Since we were departing mia, a maintenance base, we have some doubts.
