Narrative:
ECAM indication of flight control aileron servo during climb. Conferred with dispatch and maintenance control via radio. In collaboration with dispatch; since it was a flight control issue we elected to return to ZZZ. Also; as a precaution should the problem escalate; an emergency was declared (souls on board); the cabin advised to prepare the passengers and that we were approximately 10-15 minutes from landing. I do not believe we received any priority handling; however the fire/rescue equipment did follow us upon landing. Landing was otherwise uneventful. My understanding from the post flight maintenance report is that there was an autoflight ELAC2 fault; as well as an ELAC2 aileron 'order disagree'. We changed airplanes and continued uneventfully to our original destination.
