Narrative:

Captain was flying and shortly after takeoff and climbing through 2;200 ft a green laser was shined into the cockpit from a residential area off of the end of the runway. The captain and myself were both hit in the eyes by the light. The laser was shined at the aircraft for several seconds and seemed to be aimed at the cockpit. My eyes seemed to burn and were irritated after the encounter. The flight was continued and ATC; the station; and dispatch were notified.
