Narrative:
Shortly after takeoff we got an ECAM that indicated that we had hot brakes. We followed the procedures and accomplished the check list. The situation was resolved and we declared an emergency as a precaution in case there was damage to the wheels due to excessive temperatures. Possibly due to excessive taxing. Maybe run the cooling fans if taxing time is to be excessive.
