Aircraft departed taxiway due to loss of brake pressure and clipped a taxiway sign. Alternate braking system used to stop on taxiway. Aircraft inspected by mechanic and found airworthy. All appropriate checklists complied with. Contact was made with tower and airport manager.

Title: A B17's brake system failed and caused it to depart the taxiway as the alternate brakes were applied. The aircraft was undamaged after striking a taxiway sign.
